Emily Chen

Emily Chen is a fourteen-year-old pianist from Chicago, Illinois, whose playing is praised for its warmth, clarity, and expressive maturity. She began her piano studies at the age of six and currently attends the Merit School of Music, where she performs regularly in solo and chamber programs.

In recent seasons Emily has earned top prizes at several regional and national competitions and has performed in masterclasses with visiting artists from Europe and North America. She is especially drawn to the Romantic repertoire, but she enjoys exploring music from every period and is always searching for a way to tell a story through sound.

Emily is deeply grateful to her teacher, Laura Bennett, for years of patient guidance, honest feedback, and steady encouragement. She also thanks her family and the many musicians who have supported her journey, and she looks forward to continuing her studies and sharing music with new audiences.
